The DK's will be playing a private party (Dusenberg guitars) on 1/20 Saturday at the Imperial Ballroom in Fullerton, CA -- the day after the Viper Room show.

We have some passes for this and instead of selling them we want to give them to anyone that shows up at the Viper Room with a receipt for a minimum of a $10 donation to a reputable charity. (i.e. PETA, Save Darfur, AIDS, St. Judes Children's Hospital, etc.)

The party will be in Fullerton, CA.

An explanation: the show at Soho is being re-scheduled due to an unexpected conflict with HBs business. In a million to one coincidence, at the last minute, that date, and the date for Bakersfield became unavailable to me. As it turns out, the Bakersfield gig had a problem as well................something to do with the promoter at the venue getting fired, so it most likely would have not happened anyway. Naturally we are all dissappointed---we had been rehearsing and we were looking forward to those shows........some things are just unavoidable.

I sincerely apologize to anyone who was inconvenienced or lost money making plans to attend. I will find some way to make it up to you.

The Dirty Knobs truly appreciate everyone who loves the music like we do......hope to see you all soon. Gator

Hey gang, sorry for the confusion about Vinny's. Here's what happened. Crawdaddy had a problem with the date and I thought Gator wanted me to cancel, but instead he wanted a couple of days to see if Snake could cover it which he can (yeah!!). In the meantime Ape had other conflicts so we will get Swamp's friend Brian Ray (Paul McCartney Band) to fill in for him. This is just an isolated thing to cover the Vinny's show. Ape and Crawdaddy will be at Soho and the Mint........I am very sorry for any confusion this has caused anyone and bear full responsibililty. Chinner...

It was a super weekend for Vern! Mike was a kind patient guitar instructor and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it! For Vern it was a dream come true! Everybody won, The kids we helped, Vern, & Mike. Also we had the good fortune to be joined by drummer king Steve Ferrone, so it made for a great jam! Jon Scott -- The Lili Claire Foundation

For anyone who might be wondering, Mike is the real deal. I never thougt an experience like this could actually happen. What an afternoon! I am a guitar enthusiast, but only an average player. Mike is an absolutely fabulous musician. He is also a genuine nice guy. He was extremely patient as he taught me a few secrets and allowed me to have alot of fun. Everytime I play a riff or song now, I am reminded of an unbelievable opportunity. To make it even better, Steve Ferrone came along as well. What a great person. I understand Steve may do a similar auction and Mike may do another one. Start saving up, because I'd love to do this again. Mike and Steve are donating their time to a very good cause.

We have decided to continue as The Dirty Knobs......

I hate to lose Tiger and Snake (we still record and play in the studio
together) but they are Heartbreakers now, and it's a conflict of interest
for them to perform with me as The Dirty Knobs. There may be the occasion
for them to sit in with the Knobs from time to time, but it's important that
they are exclusive to Tom and the HBs.

For now the Knobs will be playing selective dates, when time permits,
between HBs engagements. Phil Jones will be playing drums and the bass is
yet undetermined. Snake will cover the bass for us till we find someone to
cover for him and he may play some guitar here and there with Ape and me.

With the development of events concerning Snake ( Ron Blair ) joining the Heartbreakers..........it has become necessary to dissolve the Dirty Knobs as a live group. Having three members of the Heartbreakers in the Dirty Knobs was never the intention of the band. We have had an incredible good time the last year or so---- playing and sharing the vibe with those who have seen us play. We will continue to record and play as four friends but, performing live is no longer feasible ---for obvious reasons. Thanks to all our friends and supporters who had fun with us........it's been a blast. Snake , Tiger and Gator look forward to seeing you at future Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers shows. Ape and Gator look forward to seeing you soon with a new lineup. Thank you all........keep listening!!!! Gator
